The 509-m-tall Taipei 101, formerly the tallest building in the world, is getting a neighbor in the form of the 274-m-tall, 45-story Nan Shan Plaza, a mixed-use structure built by Mitsubishi Estate in the Xinyi Commercial District of Taipei, SkyRise Cities reports. Its polyhedron design resembles praying hands meant to express thanks. Scheduled to be complete in December, the building will house office, commercial and cultural space and include a vast landscaped public area. Located only 60 m from Taipei 101, Nan Shan Plaza will become the third-tallest building in Taiwan.
